Last Updated about a month ago

The following documents must be submitted attached to the application form:

- Proof of bachelor's degree, which must include the final classification obtained in the degree (does not apply to qualifications obtained at the UÉ);

- Proof of master's degree, which must include the final classification obtained in the degree (does not apply to qualifications obtained at the UÉ) - if you do not have a master's degree because you have a particularly relevant academic, scientific or professional curriculum, you must request recognition of the curriculum from the IIFA Scientific Council in the application form;

- Curriculum Vitae ;

- Proof of nationality (if you are from a country outside the European Union, but fall within the exceptions to international student status under Article 3 of Decree-Law 62/2018 ).

- Identification document (alternatively, it can be presented at the UÉ Academic Services Service within three consecutive days of submitting the application)

In addition to the above-mentioned documents, the open cal rules of the respective course may define additional documentation that must be attached to the application.

Each document must be scanned in pdf or jpg format and it must be ensured that :

a) if the classification does not appear on the diploma(s) of the degree(s), a Declaration from the Higher Education Institution that awarded the degree(s) proving the classification of completion must be submitted;

b) if the classification of the degree(s) does not correspond to the numerical scale of 0-20, a document issued by the Institution of origin of the qualifications, by the Ministry of Education or by the Embassy must be submitted, with the maximum classification of that scale and the minimum classification to which the approval corresponds,

c) if the qualification documents have been issued by an entity from a country outside the European Union, these documents must be authenticated in one of the following ways:

i.The consulates or embassies of Portugal in the country of origin where the candidate obtained their qualifications;

ii. The consulates or embassies of the country of origin where the candidate obtained their qualifications in Portugal;

iii. With an Apostille of the Haia Convention, for countries that are signatories to the Apostille;

d) If the qualification documents are not written in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English, a translation of the documents into Portuguese must also be presented.

If neither the document proving the final classification obtained in the bachelor's and/or master's degree on a scale of 0-20 nor the documents referred to in points a) and b) are submitted, the candidate will be ranked with a mark of 10 for the purposes of ranking and for calculating scholarships for international students.

After paying the application fee, Academic Services will analyze if the required documents were dully attached given that:

  • The application only will be validated/accepted if submitted with all required documents, in which case the candidate is notified of its validation.
  • The application will be refused if the candidate does not fulfill the admission conditions to the course to which is applying for, or if the missing documents weren’t attached to the application within the referred deadline. The candidate will be notified of that and, if he/she wants, may reapply in subsequent phases of application.
  • The application will not be validated in case of missing documents, in which case the candidate is notified that he/she has 24 hours to access and submit again the application in SIIUE. Documents sent by other means will not be accepted.

Note that the notifications should be consulted in SIIUE through the credentials used to submit the application. An email is also sent, however as sometimes it may be considered spam, the candidates must be careful and consult the SIIUE to see if they have notifications.

The information on this page does not replace the need to read the regulations in force on this matter.
