B07.08. Portuguese Language Course
Last Updated 3 months ago

Proficiency in the language in which the course is taught requires the candidate to have an independent command of the language, corresponding to level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which must be proven by a document to be inserted in the application.

Proficiency in the Portuguese language can be proven by:

a) Proof of completion of secondary education in Portuguese;
b) Authenticated B1 certificate issued by an institution in Portugal or another European Union country;
c) Elementary Diploma of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (DEPLE);

If mastery and proficiency in the language is not proven, the admitted student will be automatically enrolled in the diagnostic test, subject to attendance and achievement, in the year of entry, of a curricular unit (UC) corresponding to the language level determined in the diagnostic test.

The diagnostic test will be carried out on a date defined annually in the UÉ Application Calendar. at a time and place to be defined and announced by the teacher responsible for the respective curricular unit.

You will be exempt from attending this UC if you demonstrate proficiency of at least level B1 in the Portuguese language diagnostic test. Attendance of the curricular unit is subject to evaluation, with completion being mandatory for those entering without proficiency in the language, being able to renew their registration in the subsequent year, or obtain any certificate.

In case of failing or missing the Curricular Unit of the language level in which they were enrolled, the international student must enroll in that UC in the following semester, as an extracurricular.
