B10.08. How to register for exams that certify fluent oral and written skills on Portuguese language to access to Master’s who gives teaching qualifications?
Last Updated 3 years ago

The Decree-law nº79/2014 of 14th May approves the legal regime of professional qualification for teaching in early childhood education and primary and secondary education levels. Article 17º establishes as general condition for admission to a master’s degree a fluent skill on oral and written Portuguese language and also a good knowledge of essential rules of logical and critical thinking and argumentation.

Applicants for master’s degree that grant professional qualification for teaching in early childhood education and primary and secondary education levels who have passed these exams in another Higher Education Institution should attach to their application a Certificate of Approval which attest their oral and written Portuguese language skills and also a good knowledge of essential rules of logical and critical thinking and argumentation.

If the certificate is not delivered the applicant must enroll in the Portuguese language written test and interview, which will be held within the deadlines set out in the University of Évora’s Application Schedule.

Only applicants who pass the written test in Portuguese language and the interview are eligible to be admitted to a Master’s programme that award professional qualification for teaching. Applicants who fail the test and/or the interview will be excluded.
